Zero Minus 24Hrs - Saturday

Finally! We’ve completed most of the last minute things that need to be done and by about mid-day Sunday, we hope to be on the road.
Zach and Tom have had their farewells at school and cleaned out their desks. Homework and workbooks have been gathered from their teachers and packed into the Jeep.

Jacob has farewelled his kindy buddies and Jacqui has passed around the blog address to the other mums and friends at coffee-catch-ups, in between visits to the beauty parlour for pedicures, hair treatments, and numerous other girl things I know nothing about.

I’ve had a longer farewell than John Farnham. I’ve had farewell drinks with people in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and the Sydney office put on a final day morning tea with a lovely card and gifts. I’ve been taken out to golf and had two lunches and I’ve taken a stack of goodbye phone calls from interstate colleagues. Thank you to everyone.

The weekend has already included family dinners, (last weekend for my side), and will continue with good friends on Saturday. We’re feeling very spoiled by everyone around us.
It’s time to get the van out and run through the final checks. We plan to be at the White Cliffs Pub for Melbourne Cup so it’s time to check and re-check all the things that should or shouldn’t open and shut.

  1. I wonder where Jacqui is or has placed all her knick-knacky stuff in the van?
